Suddenly, I realize Brian is no longer on my shoulder (he's quite light, so I rarely notice him there). Instead, he is on Thomas's head, preening him. Unfair!

Traitor
So, Brian is on my shoulder, talking to me. We're on the couch, watching TV (The Larry Sanders Show, in case anyone sees Artie on the TV in the background and is wondering.)
Suddenly, I realize Brian is no longer on my shoulder (he's quite light, so I rarely notice him there). Instead, he is on Thomas's head, preening him. Unfair!
In this picture, you can see Rocky in the background. He's on Thomas's legs and a safe distance away from Brian -- the angle obscures things a bit.

Rocky's scab removal service
Thomas has a scab on his arm, given to him by Beeps. He's been trying to get Rocky to remove it for him for a few days. You can see it off to Rocky's left:
Here, Rocky's testing it, but it's not quite ready to go.
Both Rocky (for Thomas) and Calypso (for me) have amazing scab-removal skills. They test the scab daily and when it's ready to go, they painlessly remove it.
Of course, I would love to live in a world where this service was not needed. Less frequently every year, so that's a good thing!

Allopreening routine
Most nights after dinner, Stella flies to the arm of the couch and engages me in allopreening. Actually, 95% of that is me preening her, but occasionally I get preened a bit (not much is fair when parrots are involved):

When she gets sick of me, she finishes preening herself:
And then settles in, grinding her beak, waiting for bed:

Perching
As always, it must be tough to be so loved:
Rocky's wings are only outstretched because I was close to him taking this picture.

Threats
Earlier, we were getting ready to go running. The parrots were in their cages, and Rocky in particular was unhappy about this. He kept screaming. Finally Thomas threatened, "stop screaming or I will touch you with my gloves!" Not surprisingly, Rocky kept screaming, so Thomas had to follow through.
Rocky was in his box, so Thomas enclosed him inside (Rocky loved this, so not much of a punishment):
Without Thomas's pressure, the box is much more open.
By the time we returned from our run, Rocky had completely destroyed the box.
