Tips On Captive Breeding The Amazon Parrot

In most species of amazon parrot, it is very hard to distinguish between the male with female. This is an impossible thing because they look similar and very difficult to know the difference. In their natural habitat, they use their powerful beak to pierce the trees to serve as nests where they can lay their eggs, so you can use any nest box in the breeding cage similar to those used by other parrots like lovebird just in a larger size .

Female parrots will lay eggs as many as 2-4 white eggs until they hatch and will incubate it for 26-28 days, and after 70-100 days have fur child is already complete and ready to leave the nest to search for their own food. In the natural habitat, amazon parrot like to eat nuts, fruits and leaves, so it is very important to give your bird a varied diet to ensure optimal health for both reared in cages kept or bred for the purpose.

It is very difficult to diagnose the disease being experienced by amazon parrot, so it is better to take them to a bird expert or veterinarian if your bird looks sick.
